Was Roman Reigns being taken off Night of Champions before?

An interesting development has come to the fore after the revelation that even before Roman Reigns had emergency surgery today, WWE had two scripts for Night of Champions and one of them had the superstar not wrestling.

Reigns’ injury is real and serious. WWE’s writers have worked on re-writing three day worth storyline before Night of Champions.

Earlier one of WWE’s back-up plans reportedly fell through which might have been the one for Reigns’ replacement. That is why they didn’t interrupt WWE Network coverage today with a Reigns update. It was expected that the announcement of the back-up plan would be made on the Network.

Though WWE or any WWE sources has not confirmed it, Dean Ambrose will likely to get involved with Seth Rollins tomorrow instead.
