Roman Reigns is currently on hiatus from WWE. However, there is a high belief that The Tribal Chief will be back around SummerSlam 2024.

Earlier, WWE advertised the former Undisputed Champion for the go-home episode of SmackDown before The Biggest Party of The Summer in Cleveland, but Reigns was recently pulled from this appearance. This move indicates the company might want to book Roman's return as a genuine surprise.

Looking at recent developments, it seems like the comeback of The Tribal Chief is heavily dependent on Cody Rhodes' victory. The reason behind this statement lies in the possibility of a Rhodes vs. Solo Sikoa match at SummerSlam 2024. The Enforcer has already teased a showdown with The American Nightmare. If this comes to fruition, they might wrestle at SummerSlam, and Cody Rhodes' victory could trigger Roman Reigns' return.

The Tribal Chief could make his way into the post-match scene, seeking vengeance against Solo Sikoa for his actions within The Bloodline, especially his threats towards Paul Heyman. This scenario is intriguing because Reigns is yet to face Cody Rhodes since their encounter at WrestleMania XL, and the two still have a lot of unfinished business.

However, with the high possibility of Roman returning as a babyface, he could initiate a feud against Solo Sikoa despite his unresolved issues with Cody Rhodes.

It will be interesting to see what happens at Clash at the Castle 2024 when Cody Rhodes faces AJ Styles in an "I Quit" Match. If Rhodes retains his title and subsequently faces Solo at SummerSlam, it could pave the way for Roman Reigns' long-awaited return to the Stamford-based promotion.

Why is Roman Reigns returning at SummerSlam 2024 a perfect scenario?

SummerSlam is one of WWE's biggest premium live events after WrestleMania XL. Additionally, The Biggest Party of The Summer holds historical significance for Roman Reigns, as it was at this event that he made his return to WWE during the ThunderDome Era, adopting his villainous character.

Returning as a babyface at this year's SummerSlam could serve as a full-circle moment for the former Undisputed WWE Champion.

Furthermore, WWE currently doesn't urgently need Roman Reigns in the ongoing Bloodline storyline development, making SummerSlam the ideal event for his return and re-entry into the family saga. The timing allows WWE to build anticipation and maximize the impact of his comeback.
