WrestleMania is the WWE's most important event of the year. It is known as the 'Grandest Stage of Them All' and the 'Showcase of Immortals'. Legends are created, legacies are cemented, and careers are made at WrestleMania.
Everybody in the wrestling business dreams of performing at WrestleMania. It was argued that even the career of the great Sting, the 6 time WCW World Heavyweight Champion, and one of the most iconic figures in wrestling history was incomplete before he competed at WrestleMania.
On the other end of the spectrum, Zack Ryder waited until WrestleMania 32 just to hear his entrance music played at WrestleMania.
Competing at WrestleMania certainly means a lot. But what about main eventing a WrestleMania?
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Three women have a very good chance of main eventing WrestleMania this year. It will be a doubly special moment, as if they do main event WrestleMania, they will be the first women to ever do so. These women are 'Rowdy' Ronda Rousey, Becky Lynch, and Charlotte Flair.
Ronda Rousey is the reigning RAW Women's Champion. She is a former UFC Champion, and one of its greatest draws. She has starred in several action movies. She is a true cross-over star, and WWE's biggest main-stream star. She will defend her RAW Women's Championship against Sasha Banks at the 2019 Royal Rumble.
Becky Lynch is the number one contender to the SmackDown Women's Championship. She is a two time SmackDown Women's Champion, and arguably the hottest babyface in the company. She will challenge SmackDown Women's Champion, Asuka, at the 2019 Royal Rumble.
Charlotte Flair is the daughter of the legendary two-time WWE Hall of Famer, Ric Flair. She is a seven time SmackDown Women's Champion, and arguably the most decorated female superstar in the company. She will compete in the 2019 Royal Rumble match.
So, how do we get from these Royal Rumble matches to the main-event of WrestleMania?
Lets find out.
The Women's Championship matches
Ronda Rousey and Sasha Banks are sure to have one of the best matches on the card this Sunday. Despite her impressive showing on RAW, many think Sasha Banks will be unsuccessful in her quest to dethrone Rousey.
Unfortunately, they are correct.
After what is sure to be Ronda Rousey's best wrestling match so far, she must defeat Sasha Banks to retain her RAW Women's Championship.
Becky Lynch and Asuka are sure to have a brutal hard hitting affair. Asuka must win the match. Perhaps Becky can inadvertently injure herself during the match to protect her in defeat, but Asuka must retain her SmackDown Women's Championship.
This will allow Becky Lynch to compete in the 2019 Women's Royal Rumble match.
The 2019 Women's Royal Rumble match
An injured Becky Lynch must enter the 2019 women's Royal Rumble match after Nia Jax, but before Charlotte Flair.
When Becky Lynch enters the match, she will go on an offensive flurry, but Nia Jax will take advantage of her weakened state and grind her down. After playing babyface in peril for a while, Becky Lynch will mount her babyface comeback, eventually eliminating Nia Jax.
This allows Lynch to look impressive by eliminating the greatest physical threat in the match, and also allows her to take revenge for Jax injuring her in the lead-up to last year's Survivor Series.
Charlotte Flair will be one of the last women to enter the match. At this point, the crowd will be firmly behind Becky, willing her on to win. The fresh Charlotte Flair will dominate like only she can, and eventually the last two women in the match are Flair and Lynch.
After a suitably exciting back-and-forth action, Flair thinks she has eliminated Becky, only for one of Becky's feet to have touched the floor, just like The British Bulldog and Shawn Michaels in the 1995 Royal Rumble match. Becky Lynch returns to the ring, and eliminates Charlotte Flair to win the match.
This allows an injured Becky Lynch to believably win the match, and protects Charlotte Flair in defeat.
Charlotte Steals Becky's spotlight again
Becky Lynch shows up on Monday Night RAW the following night, and challenges Ronda Rousey for the RAW Women's Championship at WrestleMania 35. A contract signing is set for the following week.
The question that many people will be asking is how does Charlotte Flair factor into all of this? The fans perceive the Charlotte Flair character to be an entitled glory hound who is handed every opportunity.
So why not play into that perception?
Stephanie McMahon could walk onto the stage after Lynch and Rousey have signed the contract making the match official.
McMahon could announce that she doesn't want either of them representing the WWE. She has documented bad blood with Rousey. As for Lynch, she could say that she never believed in Lynch; playing into the fans' perception that the WWE is trying to hold Lynch down.
McMahon could say that she has a much worthier woman in mind, someone who looks the part of a champion, and that this match is now a triple-threat match.
Before the crowd, Lynch, or Rousey have a chance to react, Charlotte Flair could enter the ring from the crowd, beat them both down with a weapon, and sign her name on the contract.
The RAW Women's Championship match at WrestleMania 35 would now be a triple threat match.
