What is the status of Cody Rhodes heading into his match against Brock Lesnar this Saturday at WWE Night of Champions?
Last night on WWE RAW, The American Nightmare was attacked by Brock Lesnar multiple times, and it was teased that Rhodes might have suffered a broken arm in the process.
Triple H came to Cody's locker room at the end of RAW last night to try and convince him to back out of his match against The Beast Incarnate, but Rhodes wasn't having any of it. There's obviously a good reason for that.
Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp (via Fightful Select) has confirmed that not only is Cody Rhodes still scheduled to face Brock Lesnar this Saturday at Night of Champions, but he's also slated to be doing some promotional appearances while he's in Saudi Arabia this week.
Most of the WWE talent heading to Saudi Arabia for this weekend's show left the United States earlier today.
Will Cody Rhodes be able to move on from Brock Lesnar following Night of Champions?
While the odds are certainly stacked against The American Nightmare, he's faced bigger obstacles before when it comes to being in the spotlight at a WWE premium live event.
Last year Rhodes defeated Seth "Freakin" Rollins inside Hell in a Cell with a (legitimately) torn pectoral muscle. If Rhodes can defeat Rollins in those conditions, no one should count him out against Lesnar this weekend in Saudi Arabia.
If The American Nightmare can defeat The Beast Incarnate at Night of Champions, perhaps he'll finally be able to get back on the path where he can challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship once again.
However, if Lesnar defeats Rhodes in Saudi Arabia, this will cause a major detour for the RAW Superstar when it comes to finding his way back to The Tribal Chief.
