The latest episode of Friday Night SmackDown saw Women’s Tag Team Champion Jade Cargill being brutally injured backstage. Jade's tag team partner, Bianca Belair, was competing in the Women’s United States Championship Triple Threat qualifying against Chelsea Green and Blair Davenport.

Throughout the match, The EST of WWE was gaining the upper hand, and it looked like she was going to win the match. However, things took a turn when a video was shown on the Titantron where her tag team partner was viciously attacked by an unknown assailant and was lying motionless on the broken windshield of a car. The former WWE Women’s Champion left her match to help her friend.

Cargill was taken out of the arena in an ambulance under medical supervision. Following the attack, WWE officially announced that Jade had suffered deep lumbar paraspinal muscle contusions, bruised her kidney, sprained the MCL in her right knee, and suffered a tibial plateau bone bruise of her right knee and facial lacerations, all of which will keep her out of action for an indefinite time.

Amid this, fans have been wondering if Jade Cargill is legitimately injured or if it is part of a storyline similar to Randy Orton. According to a recent report by Fightful Select, Jade’s angle on SmackDown was to cover her real injury, although the type of injury was not revealed.

Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair might vacate the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship

Following Jade Cargill’s injury, she and Bianca Belair might have to vacate the Women's Tag Team Champion. If that's the case, WWE will have to find new title holders, or else Belair might find a perfect replacement for Cargill, just like Chelsea Green found Piper Niven after Sonya Deville was out due to an injury.

It will be interesting to find out how Triple H and the creative team will use this real-life injury angle and what alternate plans the company might develop for Bianca Belair in the absence of Jade Cargill.
