The WWE Universe is celebrating the latest update on Becky Lynch. There was significant disappointment among The Man's fans when she didn't return on the RAW Netflix premiere, and that sentiment continued after an earlier report from behind-the-scenes sources. Now there's a bit of good news on Lynch's WWE future from backstage.
Big Time Becks went on hiatus in late May after dropping the Women's World Championship to Liv Morgan, then losing the Steel Cage rematch two nights later. There had been speculation on Lynch's contract expiring, which brought about rumors of a potential jump to AEW, but she has remained affiliated with WWE after she became a free agent on June 1 when her contract expired.
Sources earlier reported an unfortunate update on Lynch's World Wrestling Entertainment status and WrestleMania 41 coming out of the first-ever RAW on Netflix this week. However, Fightful Select now reports that Lynch and company officials have agreed on new contract terms.
Becky not being booked for the first RAW of 2025 is not indicative of her WWE future. Sources just reportedly confirmed that Lynch and officials have agreed on a new contract, but the terms have not been disclosed as of this writing.
Despite AEW and retirement rumors, Lynch has seemingly always planned to return to the Stamford-based promotion. Furthermore, she and the company have expected to do business together again since then. Lynch is expected to return in the near future, but officials reportedly had no creative plans in the works for the return of the 2019 Royal Rumble winner, or any potential WrestleMania 41 match, at the end of 2024.
Seth Rollins re-signs with WWE
Seth Rollins and wife, Becky Lynch, were among the top superstars who were to see their contracts expire last year. Rollins signed a new deal with the company weeks before Lynch went on hiatus.
The Visionary was reported as signing a new WWE contract on May 1 as his previous deal was expiring in June, along with Lynch. Rollins' new contract is said to be worth "big money" and for multiple years.
Rollins and Lynch began dating in January 2019. They welcomed their daughter Roux in December 2020, then tied the knot on June 29, 2021. As they do with many real-life couples, World Wrestling Entertainment has kept Becky and Seth on the same brand for the most part.
