The WWE future of Becky Lynch is up in the air after it was just revealed that her contract is set to expire later this week and that her offer is expected to be massive, but that does not mean she will re-sign. Lynch is also set for a big match on tonight's RAW, and new, breaking details from backstage have provided interesting insight going into the show.
The Man dropped the Women's World Championship to Liv Morgan in the opening match at Saturday's King and Queen of the Ring PLE in Saudi Arabia. Lynch had just won the vacant title 32 days earlier in a Battle Royal on RAW after Rhea Ripley was forced to relinquish due to injury. Lynch demanded a rematch due to interference from Dominik Mysterio, so now she's challenging Morgan for the title inside a Steel Cage on tonight's loaded live RAW.
A new report from within WWE, via PWTorch, notes that tonight's Steel Cage match will be a "definitive indication" of whether or not Lynch is re-signing with the company.
It was reiterated that if Lynch loses, she's likely leaving, and if she wins the world title for an eighth time, she's likely staying. This is in line with some of the obvious speculation among fans online today, but the information comes from WWE sources, who added that there could be "more indications in other ways" regarding Lynch's future.
The former Big Time Becks has been with World Wrestling Entertainment since April 2013. She is a nine-time champion between NXT, RAW, and SmackDown.
