Several former AEW stars jumped ship to WWE during the Paul Levesque Era. According to recent reports, another AEW star is interested in returning to his old stomping grounds and his name is Malakai Black.

The 39-year-old wrestler is said to be done with All Elite Wrestling. He hasn't been seen on TV since the Full Gear Pay-Per-View, where he and Brody King failed to become the AEW World Tag Team Champions.

Though neither Tony Khan nor Malakai Black has confirmed the rumors going around, he was seemingly written off TV last week on Dynamite when Will Ospreay told Buddy Matthews he doesn't need a leader.

On the following episode of Collision, Adam Copeland also prompted Brody King to "Take the reins and run." All signs point toward Malakai Black's imminent AEW exit.

Several people within WWE Creative are expecting to see the former NXT Champion return to the Stamford-based promotion once he becomes a free agent.

Sean Ross Sapp, of Fightful, confirmed that Black was interested in going back to WWE a while back. Whether he still has those plans remains to be seen.

The Dutchman was let go by WWE as part of the budget cuts in 2021, nearly eight months after his last TV match against Kevin Owens on the October 12, 2020, edition of RAW.

Julia Hart breaks silence on Malakai Black leaving AEW amid WWE return rumors

In an interview with Denise Salcedo, Julia Hart of the House of Black addressed whether Malakai Black is leaving All Elite Wrestling.

The former TBS Champion expressed her gratitude to Black for helping her flourish and said she wished him all the best no matter what path he chose.

"I think it will be okay. Whatever he [Malakai Black] decides to do is his career is his business, and I wish him all the best no matter what. He has been such a great rock for me, and I appreciate everything he’s ever done with me. But also, the rumours aren’t confirmed or anything. I don’t know what exactly is going on. Anything could be happening. We don’t know,'' she said.

Malakai Black's wife, Zelina Vega, has previously said she would love to be on the road with her husband again. Will the power couple reunite in the sports entertainment juggernaut in the future? Only time will tell.
