Gunther has pulled off the incredible after he saved Damian Priest at Saturday Night's Main Event during the ending sequence of their Triple Threat bout. Now, there's a report talking about the backstage reaction to the moment.

At Saturday Night's Main Event, Gunther had his work cut out for him. He had to battle not only Damian Priest but also Finn Balor in a match where any star beating the other could lead to him losing his title. However, he ended the match strongly and picked up the win, retaining his title despite the odds being against him.

It's not his win though that was the subject of conversation after the show. In the ending sequence, Gunther transitioned from a sleeper hold to a Powerbomb on Damian Priest outside the ring. There, he was looking to hit him with the Powerbomb on the ring steps. A dangerous spot at any time, it became far more dangerous when there was a botch in lifting Priest. The star almost fell on his neck on top of the steel steps.

However, The Ring General carried through and lifted him up through sheer power. He not only saved the spot, but Priest as well, as that could have ended in a real injury for him. As per Fightful Select's Corey Brennan, Gunther received props from those backstage in WWE, and he was praised for saving the ending spot for the match.

With the match now done, it remains to be seen what's next for the World Heavyweight Champion, given that he has beaten both challengers.
