In recent months, there have been rumors that The Rock could return to the WWE soon. Amid these reports, new details have emerged regarding his status for WrestleMania 41.
The Rock was heavily involved in the buildup to WrestleMania 40. Initially, he was planning to face Roman Reigns but turned heel after the fans clamored for Cody Rhodes to challenge The Tribal Chief instead. However, The Great One remained by his cousin's side and competed on Night One of WrestleMania 40.
The Final Boss was also involved in the main event of Night Two of the show. Following 'Mania, he appeared on RAW and confronted Cody Rhodes. He told the American Nightmare that he was going away for a while but would come back for him. The People's Champion then made a surprise appearance at WWE Bad Blood, which fueled speculation that he would return soon.
According to reports from Sportskeeda Wrestling's Dr. Chris Featherstone, WWE is proceeding with creative plans for WrestleMania without considering the possibility of The Rock being available. However, these plans could change at any time, and the company is still interested in using the Hollywood megastar if his schedule allows it.
"#WWE has decided to move forward in creative plans as if The Rock will not appear at #WrestleMania 41, as of now. I have been informed that these plans could "change at any moment," and WWE is definitely interested in using him if he becomes available, but he is not currently scheduled to compete."
Roman Reigns says a dream match against The Rock is possible if fans want it
One of the biggest dream matches fans have wanted for years is Roman Reigns vs. The Rock. WWE were close to giving the fans what they wanted at WrestleMania 40. However, plans had to be changed since the WWE universe wanted Cody Rhodes to finish his story. Hence, this dream match had to be pushed back.
During a recent interview on the SI Media podcast, Roman Reigns discussed the possibility of facing his cousin and said that the match could still take place if the fans want it.
"That goes to back to, there is a lot of meat on the bone. If Dwayne can’t come in and ‘boom, this is how it is,’ that’s when you know you’re cooking up with good ingredients. That’s why he is tied in the way he is and part of the board. We’re at an unprecedented time right now. Business is great and we want to continue to push things up. If that’s what the people want, and the People’s Champ is down, I’m sure we can make something happen," said Roman Reigns.
It will be interesting to see when The Rock returns to WWE and how he will be involved in the Bloodline storyline.
