Major update on Zelina Vega's WWE status following departure speculation - Reports

There has been an update regarding Zelina Vega's status with the promotion following this week's edition of WWE RAW. The Latino World Order member competed in a Triple Threat Match this past Monday night on RAW.

Zelina Vega squared off against Lyra Valkyria and Ivy Nile in a Women's Intercontinental Championship Tournament match. Valkyria picked up the victory, and some fans thought Vega was waiving goodbye following the heartbreaking loss.

According to a new report from PWInsider, the former Women's Tag Team Champion is under contract with the company for several more years and will not be departing soon. The report also noted that Vega received the biggest reaction of the stars in the Triple Threat Match on RAW, and there was also a negative reaction to the 33-year-old being eliminated from the tournament.

Valkyria made it to the Queen of the Ring Tournament finals in May but lost to Nia Jax. The Irresistible Force earned a title shot as a result of winning the tournament and went on to defeat Bayley at SummerSlam to capture the WWE Women's Championship.

Zelina Vega reveals her goal in WWE

Earlier this year, Latino World Order star Zelina Vega shared what she wanted to accomplish while in the company.

Speaking to Sportskeeda Wrestling's Bill Apter, Vega noted that she wanted to win her first singles championship in the company. The veteran stated that she wanted to win the title to prove everyone who ever doubted her wrong.

"I feel like I've gotten the chance to do some amazing things, work with some amazing people. Andrade, and obviously I got to work very closely with Rey, I got to be the first ever Queen of the Ring, and tag champion, but I've never actually gotten to be WWE Women's Champion. So that's my goal. It's something that I really wanted to do and prove that I can do. There's been so many doubters and people who thought I couldn't do any of what I've accomplished." Zelina Vega has never captured a singles title during her time in the company. It will be interesting to see if she ever wins a major title during her career.
