A recent report has shed light on WWE's possible plans for John Cena's opponent at next year's WrestleMania. At the end of 2025, The Cenation Leader will hang up his wrestling boots. However, before he does, the fans might see a dream match between him and Logan Paul.
At last year's Money in the Bank, John Cena made a surprise appearance to reveal that he was planning to retire from the Stamford-based promotion after one last run in 2025. Since then, the company has announced that Cena would be a part of several big shows next year, including WrestleMania 41. It was also announced that The Chain Gang Soldier's first appearance on WWE television in 2025 would be as soon as RAW's Netflix debut on January 6.
According to a recent report by Viper of PW Nexus, John Cena is expected to face Logan Paul in a big premium live event, which could also be WrestleMania 41, but nothing has been confirmed as of today. However, the report also mentioned that Gunther was the favorite to lock horns with Cena for the World Heavyweight Championship at next year's Show of Shows.

Logan Paul initially announced his WWE 'retirement' on his IMPAULSIVE podcast. However, after his appearance on RAW's Netflix kick-off show, he recently came out of his short retirement.
WWE analyst wants John Cena to break Ric Flair's record
During a recent edition of his Cheap Heat podcast, WWE analyst Peter Rosenberg said that he wanted the Triple H-led promotion to book John Cena to win his 17th World Championship and beat Ric Flair's record:
"I would just like him to maybe win [a top match]... Don't you have to have him beat Flair's record? Just think about this for a second. Think about the corporate entity that this company has become. Why would he not? From a corporate standpoint... They've been already calling him the greatest of all time, make him the greatest of all time. Can you at least make it true? You have the choice. Give him 17 championships," he said.
Peter Rosenberg also revealed that he wanted John Cena to dethrone a major name to become a 17-time World Champion. It remains to be seen what the Stamford-based promotion has planned for The Cenation Leader's retirement tour.
