Major WWE star done with the company following brutal attack on RAW - reports

Is he really gone from WWE? (Image via WWE/USANetwork)

The Wyatt Sicks made their much-awaited return to WWE TV last night. It appears that they have finally chosen their next target since they came out to attack The Final Testament last night on RAW.

Uncle Howdy's target was The Miz until he moved out of the way, and it was Paul Ellering who was hit with the Mandible Claw. Ellering was left lying motionless in the ring following the attack, and it seems that Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer believes that this was the company's way of writing the 71-year-old off TV.

Meltzer noted that at the age of 71, it probably made sense for Paul to be written off TV so that he could avoid having to stand around at ringside with The Final Testament, as he doesn't really add anything to the group.

"I got the impression watching this show that maybe [Paul] Ellering is done. I don’t think he adds anything; I think the whole idea with him is that somebody got in their heads that we want these guys [AOP] to be the next Road Warriors. But he just stands there; he barely talks. Never interferes. He’s 71. All that travel can’t be easy at that age. It felt like watching that, that this was his swansong, but I don’t know that to be a fact," he said. [H/T: Wrestle Talk]

Will The Final Testament survive without Paul Ellering on WWE RAW?

It's a question of dynamics in the group without Ellering since he appears to be the only person who controls the AOP. He has been by their side throughout their WWE careers, but it seems that Karrion Kross has the group in hand and Ellering no longer needs to be there.

Akam and Rezar were perhaps expected to be pushed much harder in WWE when they made their return, but that hasn't happened, and their loss last night to The New Day speaks volumes about any potential plans the company has.
