If recent reports are to be believed, a couple of wrestling veterans are finally heading to WWE after over two decades in the business. The said performers are Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley, collectively known as The Motor City Machine Guns.
Sabin and Shelley have been expected to join WWE for months, with some rumors indicating they could also join AEW. They revolutionized tag team wrestling in the 2000s with their high-flying style and captured the coveted TNA Tag Team Championships thrice. Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin have also achieved great success in singles competition, having won the TNA World Title once each.
Ever since the duo left TNA Wrestling in April 2024, fans have been speculating about their future in the wrestling business. A recent report by PWNexus has shed light on what could lie ahead for Sabin and Shelley. As per the rumors, the two could be heading to WWE and join NXT as the brand gears up to move to the CW Network.

NXT's tag team division is already stacked, and the addition of Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin could further boost its star power.
WWE veteran Dutch Mantell wants to see Motor City Machine Guns join NXT
On an episode of Sportskeeda Wrestling's Smack Talk, Dutch Mantell explained why it made sense for Shelley and Sabin to first join NXT and then later be promoted to the main roster. The wrestling legend felt a stint in the developmental brand would allow the two to get accustomed to the promotion's in-house style.
"No, I wouldn't bring them to the main roster. I'd go NXT and break them in there; they won't be run ragged, you know, making house shows and all this. They will just do the local thing they have in Orlando. They can talk to them, get them accustomed to how the WWE works, and bring them up."
Since NXT will move to the CW Network in October 2024, having Motor City Machine Guns debut on the premiere show could be the perfect way to introduce them to fans.
