Brock Lesnar is one of the most popular WWE Superstars. A recent report sheds light on the actual reason the former World Champion recently got referenced on live television despite his absence from the wrestling promotion.

The 47-year-old has not appeared on WWE TV since losing to Cody Rhodes in a singles match at SummerSlam 2023. The American Nightmare and Seth Rollins name-dropped Lesnar last week, as the two mentioned having taken out The Beast Incarnate in the past. It resulted in wrestling fans speculating about the latter's potential return to television.

According to a recent report from PWInsider, there have been no discussions between Brock Lesnar and WWE lately. There are currently no creative plans for the former Universal Champion, and the only reason behind his mentions on television is to give prominence to ongoing storylines.

Brock Lesnar was reportedly supposed to return to the squared circle for the 2024 Men's Royal Rumble Match and set up a match with Dominik Mysterio. However, Lesnar was immediately removed from all creative plans after his name was allegedly alluded to in the Janet Grant lawsuit against Vince McMahon and the company.

WWE analyst shares his take on Brock Lesnar being referenced on RAW

WWE analyst Sam Roberts recently explained the possible reason behind Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins referencing Brock Lesnar in their promos.

During a recent edition of the Notsam Wrestling podcast, Roberts stated he does not think it will lead to Brock Lesnar making his WWE return anytime soon. He added that The American Nightmare seemingly brought up the veteran's name as a part of his storyline with Gunther.

"I don't think they're insulting fans' intelligence anymore. I don't think that they're sitting there going like, 'We know that you know this, but we're gonna pretend it never happened, hopefully, you'll forget.' So I think that that's more what it is that the idea that Cody Rhodes stepping up to Gunther, Cody can't say I've never taken on somebody as, like, sort of big menacing and unbeatable as you before, because he has. He's done it three times. And I just think that they're unwilling to ignore that in this era, and I think that's a really, really good thing," he added. [From 45:09 to 49:10]
