WWE currently has three brands: RAW, SmackDown, and NXT. However, a fourth brand was in the works of being launched but never kicked off despite an official announcement. Now, a report has revealed the fate of NXT Europe.
NXT is the company's primary developmental territory managed by Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels. The brand previously had a UK division, which was put on hold in August 2022 and was supposed to be reintroduced as NXT Europe. According to a report by Fightful Select, the company doesn’t have any updates regarding the brand’s launch.
The report stated that little has happened regarding the plans for the brand’s launch following Vince McMahon’s exit. It also noted that WWE’s merger with Endeavor in September 2023 further slowed things down. Since then, there has been no news about NXT Europe.
Chelsea Green sends a threat to Netflix ahead of WWE RAW’s move to the streaming giant
While there is no news about NXT Europe, WWE is going to make one of its biggest breakthroughs in history by shifting RAW’s broadcast to Netflix. Ahead of the partnership's launch in January 2025, Chelsea Green has threatened the streaming giant.
Notably, Netflix released a video advertisement on X showcasing wrestlers taking hits from objects and other wrestlers, claiming that WWE is as real as it gets. The video clip also had a small segment where The Hot Mess was seen falling through tables.
Upset over this, Green tweeted that she never gave Netflix permission to use the video. She also asked SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis to step in and take care of the matter.
“I did NOT give you permission to use my death-defying moment as entertainment in your ad! Ridiculous. cc: @RealNickAldis plz deal w this,” she wrote.
The Canadian superstar is aiming to become the inaugural Women’s United States Champion and has already qualified for the semifinal after defeating Bianca Belair and Blair Davenport. It would be interesting to see if she can win her first singles title in the very first year of her main roster promotion.
