At Saturday Night's Main Event, Cody Rhodes suffered a serious injury, as announced by WWE. Now, there's a report on the injury ahead of WWE RAW.
WWE announced earlier today that Cody Rhodes had suffered cervical swelling and had to be kept in a hospital overnight after the attack by Kevin Owens. They said that there was no fracture, but he had been diagnosed with a compression of his cervical spine and a cervical strain with spasm.
"BREAKING: Earlier today it was confirmed that @CodyRhodes suffered cervical swelling and was kept overnight at a local hospital for observation. While X-Rays were negative for a fracture, Rhodes has been officially diagnosed with axial compression of the cervical spine, as well as a cervical strain with spasm."
PWInsider reported on the injury as well, making it clear that although WWE had provided an update, the injury is part of the storyline. Thanks to the attack, it seems clear that Rhodes and Owens are far from done with each other.
It remains to be seen when Rhodes returns to the ring to face Owens next. The match is sure to be a big one. The feud may continue till the Royal Rumble, but nothing is certain as of now.
