#1. Backstage reaction to Paul Heyman's demotion, impact on the roster
The fans are not pleased with WWE's decision but what about the talents backstage?
A top AEW star just called one of his colleagues 'spoiled' and 'narcissistic' HERE.
Sean Ross Sapp reported in a Fightful Select post that the initial reaction was that of general disappointment backstage. Others stated that the writing was on the wall as the situation behind the scenes on RAW wasn't that great.
The young talents, in particular, are dejected as Paul Heyman was a big proponent of pushing new blood on his shows. None of the Superstars knew about the news until the WWE announced it on social media. There are also no reports of there being any backstage incident or altercation between Vince McMahon and Paul Heyman. As things stand, Heyman and the WWE management are on good terms.
When it comes to the backstage impact, Dave Meltzer stated in the Newsletter that almost every talent barring a select few names are in danger of being affected.
Edge, Randy Orton, Seth Rollins, Charlotte Flair are established names who will be safe. However, the others may not be so lucky. Even though Vince McMahon likes Drew McIntyre and the Street Profits, if push comes to shove, they may have to suffer the consequences of McMahon's decision-making.
Meltzer noted:
Still, with the exception of people like Edge, Seth Rollins, Charlotte Flair and Randy Orton, who are locked at the top due to tenure as stars and proven ability to talk, this would open up a question as to virtually every other wrestler on the Raw roster, including McIntyre. The belief is that McIntyre and the Street Profits are liked by McMahon and are probably safe, although they will be more subject to the whims of booking that may or may not protect them as well. As far as everyone else, it's anyone's guess.
