#3. Speculation on the backup plan for the main event of WWE SummerSlam

The travel ban between the US and Canada due to the COVID-19 pandemic could bring up a scenario wherein Brock Lesnar may be unable to travel for WWE SummerSlam. What happens then?

Tom Colohue speculated on the latest edition of the Dropkick DiSKussions podcast that if Brock Lesnar cannot get into the country in time for SummerSlam, then the company could end up booking Drew McIntyre to go up against Randy Orton.

The plan is still to have Lesnar vs. McIntyre as the main event of WWE SummerSlam, but that could all change if The Beast Incarnate's gets held up in Canada.

Tom explained:

"Orton vs. Edge was supposed to be the SummerSlam match with Brock Lesnar lined up for Drew McIntyre. Now that Edge is out of the picture, they have given Orton something to do while they work out what to do next. If they can't get Brock Lesnar into the country, or if they just need someone for McIntyre, we may end up with McIntyre vs. Orton, but we need to kill a little bit of time on the way.

WWE has also come up with an extensive taping schedule until SummerSlam despite uncertainty about the PPV happening at a venue outside the Performance Center.
