WWE is set to present the final SmackDown episode of 2024 in just a few hours. The blue brand will wrap up another successful year tonight, live from the Amalie Arena in Tampa. Amid uncertainty surrounding top stars like Cody Rhodes, sources have revealed new details on what's in the works for tonight.

Last Friday's post-Saturday Night's Main Event episode of SmackDown was taped, so it's likely that the real SNME fallout will pick up tonight. Chelsea Green and Piper Niven were featured in a backstage interview last week, but Wrestlevotes reports that the blue brand will see WWE's inaugural Women's United States Champion officially celebrate her big victory.

Word from backstage in Tampa is that the women's division will be on display again tonight as top superstars team up for six-woman action. The current plan is for Nia Jax to team with Tiffany Stratton and Candice LeRae to take on Bayley, Naomi, and Bianca Belair.

The WWE Women's Champion and Ms. Money in the Bank recently formed a dark alliance with the current and inaugural Speed Women's Champion Candice LeRae. On the babyface side, The EST holds the Women's Tag Team Championship with the injured Jade Cargill, but on last week's taped episode she chose Naomi to replace The Storm in their successful title defense over Jax and LeRae.

Tonight's SmackDown will also be the final two-hour episode for quite a while as plans call for a three-hour format moving forward. No lineup has been announced for tonight, but the company and arena websites have the following superstars advertised: Cody Rhodes, Solo Sikoa and The Bloodline, LA Knight, Nia Jax, Bayley, Tiffany Stratton, and Bianca Belair. The following RAW Superstars are also listed, likely for dark matches: Jey Uso, Kairi Sane, Dakota Kai, and Pure Fusion Collective.
