The 2024 iteration of WWE SummerSlam saw the introduction of a special referee camera by the Stamford-based promotion. In an unexpected turn of events, however, Special Guest Referee Seth Rollins failed to use this special referee cam. Moreover, not only did Rollins drop his equipment, he didn’t even try to fix his botch when he had the chance to.

Actions like these, especially non-compliance with special gimmicks usually invite a ton of backstage heat. According to reports by Fightful Select, however, The Visionary may not have to endure any such backlash from the internal team for his error. Interestingly, the reason behind this lies in a prior discussion that foresaw the possibility of the equipment falling off.

“During Drew McIntyre vs. CM Punk, the battery pack for Seth Rollins’ ref cam would fall off, with Rollins making the decision to abandon the camera after. We are told there was no heat on Seth as this was deemed a possibility beforehand.” [H/T - Fightful]

The Architect always enters the WWE arena while dancing and moving his body in tune with the music, compared to a traditional walk down the ramp. Hence, having such a failsafe in place was definitely a wise decision by Triple H and his team. However, while Seth Rollins may be forgiven for his mistake, the same can’t be said for Dominik Mysterio.

Dominik Mysterio executed the ultimate betrayal at SummerSlam when he double-crossed Rhea Ripley and helped Liv Morgan retain the Women’s World Championship.

Rubbing salt on Mami’s wounds, he even kissed Morgan in front of her after his treachery. Speaking to Sportskeeda, pro wrestling legend Kenny Bolin noted that this set Dom’s image as a heel in stone.

Bolin's words clearly indicate that there may not be any redemption for Dominik Mysterio in the future. Dirty Dom has always been a natural heel who has been constantly booed by the WWE Universe. However, this is the first time his character has shown an evil tendency since he betrayed his father.

Now, his character will attract more hate and he will also have to deal with the aftermath of his betrayal from Mami. Notably, the match between Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley was also captured by the referee cam, showcasing Dom’s double-face from another angle.
