There has been an unfortunate update about WWE star Big E's potential return to the ring. The veteran has not competed in a match since the March 11, 2022, episode of SmackDown.
The 38-year-old suffered a broken neck over two years ago and has not been able to return to the ring since. Today, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful responded to some fan questions on Select Answers and was asked if he thought Big E would return.
Sean Ross Sapp noted that he believed the former WWE Champion was done with his in-ring career and hoped to be proven wrong. However, Sapp added that he had not heard anything indicating that he would return to the ring.
The New Day betrayed E earlier this month on RAW and refused his offer to become their manager. Due to their actions, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods are now heels on WWE television and are booed by fans on the red brand.
WWE Hall of Famer does not believe Big E wants to be a full-time wrestler anymore
Wrestling legend Teddy Long does not believe Big E is interested in becoming a full-time wrestler again.
Speaking on a recent edition of Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine show, Long discussed E's potential return to the ring and stated that he didn't think that he would want to wrestle every week again. The Hall of Famer added that the former Intercontinental Champion could find a mystery partner to go up against his former faction in the future.
"I wouldn't doubt it - there's a good little story there with Kofi & Xavier. He could start with Xavier and get that win over him. Then comes Kofi right there, and drops him. Now, Xavier comes up and they both beat him to death, man. I don't think he wants to do full-time anymore but then you could take Big E and get him a mystery partner and have a tag team. Now you have E going up against his old team." [From 07:50 to 08:25]

Rey Mysterio kicked The New Day out of the locker room after their heel turn on RAW earlier this month. Only time will tell what the company has planned for the faction in the weeks ahead.
