Hulk Hogan returned to WWE amid controversy on Monday's RAW Netflix premiere, and the fallout from backstage is continuing. The wrestling legend is set to make more appearances in the near future, but now those plans may be in jeopardy. Sources have just revealed additional scoops from RAW, including details on heat, and why both sides were not happy.

The Immortal One and Jimmy Hart hit the stage on RAW and were immediately met with heavy boos. A visibly perplexed Hogan was taken aback even more when the boos got louder after his iconic music stopped. The WCW legend cut a babyface promo, putting over the fans, WWE, and Netflix, while also promoting his Real American Beer that launched months back. The brand is the main reason why he's back in WWE as the two sides have signed an on-air sponsorship deal.

Backstage sources earlier leaked surprising details on Hogan's WWE return, including future plans, why Hulk might be replaced as promoter, and another shocker on the new sponsorship deal. Now, word from within WWE is that there was significant unhappiness at RAW surrounding Hogan's appearance. Fightful Select added that even the man himself was not thrilled.

The Hulkster's RAW Netflix premiere appearance was already limited to just a few minutes because of his frail physical condition, which is also why he and Hart stayed on the stage. It was noted by many how the 71-year-old seemed a bit unsteady on his feet. The 13-time world champion has battled several physical ailments in recent years, mainly stemming from years of in-ring work.

Hulk Hogan was described as "surprised and disappointed" at the negative crowd reactions, but he reportedly "brushed it off" backstage in front of others. It wasn't clear if Hulk thought the heat was due to his recent political support of President Trump, but it was noted that, at the very least, multiple sources did not see politics as the only reason for the boos, an apparent reference to Hogan's rocky past.

Monday's RAW Netflix premiere was seen as a massive night for WWE internally, and many people within the company were not happy with the fact that Hogan's crowd reactions became a common talking point from such an important night, even in the mainstream. Hogan's heavy boos drew coverage from Variety and CNN, among other outlets.

Officials and others in the company had a feeling the two-time Hall of Famer might not be welcomed back by the WWE Universe. Word was that a number of people backstage raised the potential issue of Hulk Hogan getting booed long before RAW hit the air on the streaming giant. One WWE source said many people backstage knew the negative reaction was a possibility.

The same main roster source also addressed rumors of Hollywood Hogan making a return at RAW this week. There was online chatter after it was suggested that Hogan should return with his nWo persona, and really lean into the heel role. However, a backstage source stated that this certainly would not have been the original plan for Hogan's return as they were trying to sell his beer, not get a 71-year-old over any way possible.

WWE will probably end up re-considering the context in which they use the former Mr. America moving forward, according to the same aforementioned source. This is in line with a previous report that indicated another superstar or Hall of Famer could be used to promote Hulk Hogan's Real American Beer brand. WWE officials are set to keep the new on-air sponsorship deal going indefinitely.

Logan Paul promotes Hulk Hogan's beer

Logan Paul and Hulk Hogan are two of the biggest pop culture celebrities in the world today. The two are now both affiliated with WWE's flagship show as of Monday's loaded RAW Netflix premiere.

The Hulkster was at RAW mainly to promote his Real American Beer company, which has a unique new deal with WWE. The Maverick was in the crowd as he's a new RAW roster member, and is focused on winning championship gold. Real American Beer shared the following post-RAW clip of Logan Paul trying Hulk Hogan's brew.

"The former US Champion bleeds red, white and blue. He drinks it too. Who’s ready to see the high flyer in Cleveland??? #wweonnetflix #RealAmericanBeer," wrote Hulk Hogan's Real American Beer with the video below.

WWE has not confirmed when Hulk Hogan will be back on RAW, but more appearances are reportedly booked for the near future. Logan Paul is a full-time red brand roster member now.
