WWE SummerSlam weekend was massive for The Bloodline. From a shocking title change to the return of the Head of The Table, there were several notable moments for the faction at The Biggest Event of The Summer. New details are being revealed on a potential injury to one top star.

Cody Rhodes retained the Undisputed WWE Championship over Solo Sikoa at SummerSlam in a Bloodline Rules match, thanks to Roman Reigns. At one point, Jacob Fatu helped the self-proclaimed new Tribal Chief destroy The American Nightmare and put him through the announce desk with a big Frogsplash. However, the 32-year-old seemingly injured himself after the maneuver, which kept him out of the bout. Fatu yelled at Sikoa to finish the champion off but Cody fought back before Reigns made his big return and laid out Solo.

The Samoan Werewolf needed assistance after the match and was seen in a walking boot later in the night. A new report from Fightful Select notes that creative plans for the SummerSlam main event called for Fatu to sell his leg following the announce table splash.

It was noted that the idea behind the selling of the leg was to keep Fatu away from any kind of confrontation with Reigns during his return sequence. There's talk of an ankle injury going around WWE, but the Wrestling Observer was unable to get a top-level source to confirm the nature or severity of any injury, and if what we saw was just the planned angle.

Despite officials booking the injury angle, Fightful adds that it still is not clear if Fatu was planned to sell to the extent that we saw. The former MLW World Heavyweight Champion was still wearing the walking boot as of Sunday morning.

Triple H speaks on Jacob Fatu's WWE SummerSlam injury

Triple H indicated during the SummerSlam post-show press conference that Jacob Fatu may have suffered a legitimate leg injury when putting Cody Rhodes through the announce table.

World Wrestling Entertainment's Chief Content Officer said Fatu was "a little bit banged up," in the main event, adding that his leg was bothering him. Triple H expressed hope that the injury was not serious.

Fatu and Tama Tonga brought gold to The Bloodline on Friday's go-home SmackDown. They defeated #DIY to capture the WWE Tag Team Championship, thanks to interference from Tonga Loa and Solo Sikoa. The first reign of Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano ended in just 28 days.
