The USA Network reportedly almost had to take a WWE show off the air this week. Both RAW and SmackDown are currently airing on the same network.

According to a new report from Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, the USA Network almost had to take this past Tuesday night's edition of NXT off the air due to its lengthy overrun. However, the show was able to wrap up only moments before the cutoff time.

It was the final episode of NXT on the USA Network, as the white and gold brand will debut on the CW Network on October 1.

SmackDown spent the past several years on FOX, but the promotion's deal with the network came to an end earlier this month. The blue brand premiered on the USA Network on September 13.

RAW will be leaving the USA Network in January 2025, as the promotion moves to the popular streaming site Netflix after both parties agreed to a 10-year deal.

Former WWE writer comments on mistake on RAW

Wrestling veteran, Vince Russo, recently commented on a mistake made on WWE RAW.

Jey Uso recently captured the first singles title of his WWE career. He squared off against Bron Breakker in the main event of last Monday's episode of RAW and defeated the 26-year-old to win the Intercontinental Championship. Main Event Jey got emotional following the match during an interview in the crowd, but his celebration was cut short on television.

Speaking on the latest episode of Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW show, Vince Russo commented on Jey Uso's Intercontinental Championship celebration being cut off on television. The legend suggested that the mistake would never have happened if former WWE producer, Kevin Dunn, still worked for the company.

"You know who's not gonna blow that, bro? Kevin Dunn. Say all you want about Kevin Dunn, bro, he did that a million times and I guarantee you that would never happen," he said. [From 23:31 onwards]

The company is currently building towards Bad Blood next weekend in Atlanta, Georgia. It will be interesting to see what the promotion has planned for the go-home episode of RAW tomorrow night before the premium live event.
