#3 Backstage reason why Jeff Hardy won't face Sheamus at Extreme Rules

Jeff Hardy and Sheamus' match will take place on SmackDown

Sheamus and Jeff Hardy were originally supposed to face each other at WWE Extreme Rules. This was expected to be announced on SmackDown earlier this week but it looks like the match has been pushed back to next week's SmackDown instead. Although the match was never officially announced to be a part of Extreme Rules, it was widely speculated that the match would be added to the PPV. Hardy versus Sheamus will be a rematch from their match at the Backlash PPV.

Why won't Hardy vs Sheamus take place at the Extreme Rules PPV? According to backstage reports, WWE have decided to push back the 'Bar Fight' between Hardy and Sheamus to SmackDown next week in an effort to combat flagging ratings.

Although this hasn't been confirmed, ratings are also said to be the reason why WWE decided to have Randy Orton face the Big Show in an unsanctioned match on RAW this coming Monday instead of at Extreme Rules.
