The RAW on Netflix debut on January 6 has been booked to be almost a WrestleMania-caliber show. Owing to that, WWE was forced to shift a huge title match from the red brand's premiere on the global streaming giant.

On WrestleVotes Radio on Backstage Pass, JoeyVotes and TC briefly reported on why WWE had to change plans and move a major title match that was originally set to take place on RAW's Netflix debut. The bout is none other than the final of the Women's Intercontinental Championship Tournament between Dakota Kai and Lyra Valkyria.

The highly-anticipated match to crown the first-ever Women's Intercontinental Champion was moved to the January 13 episode of RAW on Netflix as WWE didn't want the final of the tournament to get lost in the shuffle, according to JoeyVotes and TC.

The decision makes sense as there is already a high-profile Women's World Title match between Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley on the card for the historic night. This will ensure that Dakota Kai and Lyra Valkyria can get a huge spotlight, possibly even headlining the second episode on Netflix on January 13.

A former WWE writer just went after JBL for his comments HERE

JBL gave his honest thoughts on the Women's Intercontinental Title well before the final on RAW

There has been a lot of buzz surrounding the introduction of the Women's United States and Intercontinental Championships. A former IC and Grand Slam Champion shared his thoughts on the introduction of the brand-new title on the red brand.

On a Live Q & A on Backstage Pass, JBL said he felt the women were as deserving of the Intercontinental Championship as the men:

"It's a little bit harder [today] cuz the shows are full of your main stars. So it's tough. The only thing I would say is if the men have the Intercontinental Title, the women should too. And if it's too many titles, then neither should have it. I think [women] have proven, over and over again, they're equal. That's why I think what the men have, the women should have - at least the same because they're same drawing power." [43:54 onwards]

Dakota Kai or Lyra Valkyria will have the distinct honor of making history, similar to what Chelsea Green recently achieved at Saturday Night's Main Event. However, in the context of WWE, the Intercontinental Championship arguably has more prestige due to its long and decorated history.
