The annual WWE Royal Rumble Premium Live Event generates significant buzz by default owing to the potential returns and debuts in the titular contests. This year's edition will air live from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana, on February 1, 2025.

WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has reportedly been in discussion for this year's extravaganza. He is likely to make an appearance in a non-wrestling capacity, as he has confirmed that he will not step into the ring for a match again.

As per PWInsider, WWE is hoping The Nature Boy will be part of the Royal Rumble this year. Aside from the 75-year-old legend, the upcoming show is also notable for featuring John Cena's final in-ring performance at the 30-man annual event, as he has announced that December will mark the end of his in-ring career and his Farewell Tour.

Ric Flair and John Cena are currently tied at 16 World Title wins in the wrestling industry. Cena has an opportunity to break this record before retiring but has admitted it is near impossible at this stage in his career. Nevertheless, his participation in the Royal Rumble 2025 is to give it a shot anyway.

Will John Cena win the WWE Royal Rumble 2025?

John Cena's return on the Netflix premiere of WWE RAW was all about him acknowledging the twilight of his career. Cena is self-aware that another title win is less likely, so he tried lowering the expectations of the fans.

Wrestling veteran Tommy Dreamer reviewed the 47-year-old's promo this past Monday, noting that it may not have gotten the desired outcome. Unless, of course, Triple H and his band of creatives have plans to give Cena one last reign as with a WWE World Title.

"John Cena took you on — he even said 'never say never. I'm gonna need a miracle because here's why. I haven't won a match in how long. The only way I could do it if I went and won the Royal Rumble.' Listen to how those people reacted. He was doing it [with the intention of] there is no way I would even do it. The people are willing to see it happen. He took you on this emotional ride where you're like, 'Yeah, John. You can do it,'" said Tommy Dreamer.

As seen in the reel above, John Cena ended his promo at a high point, with many cheering on at the prospect of another Royal Rumble win for The Greatest of All Time. Cena is already a two-time 'Rumble winner, having won it in 2008 and 2013.
