The ongoing new era of WWE has included a big move from East Main Street in Stamford, CT, to Washington Boulevard in East Stamford. Vince McMahon grew the regional pro wrestling company into a global sports and entertainment powerhouse from the iconic building. It just revealed how the promotion made big bucks off a recent property sale.
Titan Towers was just as synonymous with World Wrestling Entertainment as Hulkamania. The building at 1241 East Main Street in Stamford was completed in 1981 and reopened on May 13, 1991, as WWE Headquarters. Fans will recognize the eight-level, 94,248-square-foot building from various shows over the years. The company also owned nearby properties and lots.
WWE has finally sold its former nearby production studio at 120 Hamilton Avenue, according to CT Insider. Developer V20 Group is paying nearly $7.5 million for the property, which includes the TKO buildings and two adjacent parcels.
The building that housed WWE production sits on a three-acre plot with 33,000 square feet of ground floor space. The combined parcel includes another four acres from adjacent properties at 128 and 102 Hamilton. The purchasing firm wants to convert the property into a high-end warehouse but no residential development.
V20 Group said they had wanted the property since the TKO-owned company first put it up for sale. The legendary Titan Towers at 1241 East Main Street was put up earlier this year and is still listed.
The company HQ was relocated to 677-707 Washington Boulevard in Stamford two years ago. In April, a production center with five studios was completed.
New WWE show to premiere
World Wrestling Entertainment continues to pump out content online and on other platforms. The company is set to air a new show with A&E called LFG: Legends & Future Greats.
The new competition series will feature in-ring matches and a behind-the-scenes look as rising talents compete for a contract while being mentored by Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Booker T, and The Undertaker, among others. The Game tweeted full details and told fans to get ready.
"For the first time ever, we're showing you what REALLY goes into being a Superstar... Get ready for #WWELFG. @AETV," Triple H wrote.
A&E and World Wrestling Entertainment also announced a new Greatest Moments series and a new season of Rivals. The two companies previously found success with Most Wanted Treasures and Biography: Legends.
