WWE officials are moving forward after two successful premium live events held this past weekend - Money in the Bank and Heatwave. This new era is close to branching off into another period for the company, and new details are being revealed on what might be in the works.

World Wrestling Entertainment previously announced just how successful Money in the Bank was at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto this past Saturday. Officials were also pleased with Heatwave at the same venue the following night. The event was headlined by a shocking title change as Ethan Page captured the NXT Championship by winning a 17-minute Fatal Four-Way over Je'Von Evans, Shawn Spears, and former champion Trick Williams.

Sources report that WWE officials were "over the moon" for the Heatwave reception, and the actual performances associated with the show, according to Fightful Select. It was noted that the final 6-match card looked different than what was the general plan a few months back.

WWE and TNA continued their working relationship in a major way this week, and now word within NXT is that there will be multiple crossovers coming up. The weekly NXT TV show is set to premiere on the CW Network on October 1, and maintaining this strong buzz as they enter the new era of the brand is important to officials.

There has been talk of adding different production changes to the NXT product. This latest report notes that officials have discussed the use of a referee cam, which could debut on NXT TV soon.

Next WWE NXT special announced

World Wrestling Entertainment is bringing The Great American Bash back to NXT. It was revealed today that the company has at least one more major NXT PLE set for this year, but GAB is returning as a special.

It was announced during Heatwave that The Great American Bash will air on Tuesday, August 6 from the Performance Center in Orlando. The special episode will air on Syfy due to Olympics coverage on the USA Network.

JCP and WCW used The Great American Bash from 1985-2000. WWE brought the name back for 6 pay-per-view events from 2004-2009, and a 2012 SmackDown special. NXT revived GAB for a two-night TV event in 2020 and 2022, then a PLE in 2023.
