A new report has disclosed that WWE will be altering its schedule ahead of its upcoming tour in Japan. The promotion is currently building toward WWE SummerSlam 2024 and tonight's edition of RAW will air live from Dayton, Ohio.

Cody Rhodes shared a graphic of his schedule earlier this month and the July 26 edition of SmackDown was mysteriously left out. It appears that was for good reason as PWInsider is reporting that the company will be taping next week's edition of SmackDown following this Friday's show in Omaha, Nebraska.

The company is getting set for a tour in Japan later this month and that is likely the reason for the schedule change.

Cody Rhodes is involved in a rivalry with The Bloodline once again on SmackDown and, if made official, could be defending his Undisputed WWE Championship against Solo Sikoa at SummerSlam on August 3.

Former WWE manager criticizes Cody Rhodes following SmackDown

Cody Rhodes decided to go to the ring alone and address The Bloodline this past Friday night on SmackDown. Wrestling veteran Dutch Mantell was not a fan of the decision and claimed Rhodes deserved what happened to him.

Speaking on the most recent episode of Sportskeeda Wrestling's Smack Talk show, Mantell claimed The American Nightmare's decision to confront the faction by himself was ignorant. The legend added that he didn't feel any sympathy for Rhodes because he thought he could take on four wrestlers alone.

"Cody lost me. He's gonna stand there and pull his jacket off with four guys there. Everybody knew what was coming. Them beating the cr*p out of him didn't get him a lot of sympathy. He got his own a*s whipped because of his own ignorance. You're gonna stand there and fight four of them then he gets what he gets," said Mantell. [4:34 onwards]

The 39-year-old defeated Roman Reigns to capture the Undisputed WWE Championship in the main event of WrestleMania XL Sunday. The Tribal Chief has not appeared on SmackDown since and The Bloodline has made notable changes during his hiatus. The faction attacked Paul Heyman last month and only time will tell how The Head of the Table will respond.
