WWE has moved forward in its new era without Vince McMahon. The company began distancing itself from the former owner due to scandals, and it had been reported that a return was not an option. New details have leaked from backstage on how things are going months later.

The Chairman found himself wrapped up in multiple controversies from the past few years, but sexual misconduct allegations made by a former WWE employee led to his departure earlier this year. The 78-year-old may have been pressured to resign from TKO Group Holdings, but he has vowed to fight the accusations.

Regardless, McMahon is done with World Wrestling Entertainment, and a big sign that this is true is the fact that WrestleMania XL was the first 'Mania in history without his influence.

It has now been five months since McMahon announced his resignation, and he is still under federal investigation, as is the company. While people in WWE are not really concerned about the feds looking into the promotion "personally," Fightful Select notes that they do expect things to be found out about McMahon and John Laurinaitis, who was also named in the misconduct allegations.

From a talent standpoint, there's a feeling of finally being rid of Mr. McMahon and Johnny Ace. There was a false sense of security a few years back, before Vince was able to return ahead of the Endeavor merger, but that has passed. WWE officials will reiterate to anyone who asks internally that there is no longer any kind of association with McMahon and Laurinaitis.

Randy Orton on Vince McMahon being out of WWE

Randy Orton worked closely with Vince McMahon for years as he signed his first developmental contract in 2000 at the age of 20. Orton's father also worked for the company.

Speaking to Sportskeeda Wrestling Senior Editor Bill Apter, The Viper recently admitted that he prefers the current WWE management team. Orton gave props to McMahon but also praised Triple H and Nick Khan.

"All the opportunities he [Vince McMahon] gave me, it's nice having him out of there and it's nice having his son-in-law, Triple H, running the game. Nick Khan's great. Everybody in TKO that's come in, stepped in, they seem to get it, and it's just a different era," Randy Orton said. [4:19 – 4:35]

Orton went on to reveal how he struggled to get time off under the former Chairman. The 44-year-old also made interesting remarks on how the current team cares about the talents.
