WWE is expanding SummerSlam in 2025 for the first time ever
Another major expansion that the Sports Entertainment leader underwent was the announcement of the first-ever two-night SummerSlam in 2025. While it was already revealed that SummerSlam would be a two-night affair in 2026 in Minneapolis, MetLife Stadium will be the place where the second-biggest PLEw of the calendar year will reach WrestleMania levels.
MetLife Stadium was the host of WrestleMania 29, which was headlined by John Cena vs. The Rock. It's hard to believe that it's been 11 years since the "Once in a Lifetime" clash became twice in a lifetime.
It will be interesting to see what the appetite will be for a two-night SummerSlam. There have been some fans online who seem a bit resistant to the idea, but in all likelihood, it will only turn SummerSlam into a spectacle and take it to a whole new level, which is clearly the company's intention.
