WWE is getting set for a multi-part Saturday Night's Main Event (SNME), with the iconic show returning on December 14. Gearing up for the special event, the company is reportedly planning to get three major legends in addition to the one who is expected to be there.

On WrestleVotes Radio on Backstage Pass, JoeyVotes and TC reported that WWE is set to go all in on the presentation of the returning Saturday Night's Main Event. Staying true to its old-school roots with the use of the song "Obsession" by Animotion, WWE is going retro, and that means bringing back some of the names that made SNME what it was.

JoeyVotes and TC reported that apart from Jimmy Hart, who is expected to be there, the promotion is eyeing women's wrestling legend Wendi Richter while possibly trying to get Bob Orton and Hulk Hogan.

The last name, in particular, might shock some fans because of Hogan's strong political stance for the 2024 United States election. WWE, being apolitical on TV, may simply want to get eyeballs from Hogan's presence, assuming it happens at all.

Also, the previous report on WrestleVotes Radio about the second Saturday Night's Main Event has turned out to be true. It was reported that WWE was planning a two-day special just one week before the Royal Rumble, pairing SmackDown on Friday and SNME on Saturday. The second Saturday Night's Main Event will happen in San Antonio, Texas, on January 25, 2025, before WWE heads to Indiana for the Royal Rumble.

For the first time, the Royal Rumble will be held in February.

How many matches will be on WWE Saturday Night's Main Event?

All signs seem to indicate that WWE is going with a similar approach to Saturday Night's Main Event as it does with "B" premium live events. This essentially means booking limited matches even when there are enough ongoing storylines to add more matches to the card.

So far, four matches are official—

Gunther (c) vs. Finn Balor - World Heavyweight Championship

Liv Morgan (c) vs. IYO SKY - Women's World Championship

Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Kevin Owens - Undisputed WWE Championship

TBA vs. TBA - Finals to crown the first-ever Women's United States Champion

The Triple H-led creative team may add at most one match to the card, making it a five-match affair. Considering it's a TV Network special, don't expect a bloated card.
