WWE will use new SummerSlam method during matches more often - Reports

The 2024 edition of WWE SummerSlam saw several big twists and turns in the wrestling promotion’s storylines. Interestingly, one of the big matches in the Cleveland PLE saw the use of a new technical method by the Stamford-based promotion. Now, reports say that the method will see more usage in matches going forward.

The WWE Women’s Championship match between Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley saw Mami lose the match due to Dirty Dom’s betrayal. This treachery was caught from several angles, including a new camera angle that recorded the POV of the referee. Notably, the official had a small camera placed on his ear during the match. According to Fightful Select, this new camera angle will be here to stay in the company.

“The ref cam was first tested at the WWE Performance Center recently, and fine-tuned before Saturday night. We are told that the concept will most likely be used for replays going forward.”

Special Guest Referee Seth Rollins also had an earpiece camera for the Drew McIntyre versus CM Punk match. Notably, the Stamford-based promotion isn’t the first one to use a referee camera in this way. However, it carries the potential of becoming a new staple for the company if the fans like the new addition being used more frequently.

While Dominik Mysterio was caught betraying Rhea Ripley from a new camera angle, his attacks on Mami haven’t stopped. Instead, Dom recently posted a message adding more insult to The Eradicator’s injury.

Dominik Mysterio mocks Rhea Ripley after WWE SummerSlam

Dominik Mysterio shocked the WWE Universe by siding with Liv Morgan and double-crossing Rhea Ripley. It initially seemed he cared about Mami beating Morgan to win her title back.

However, he showed his true colors by getting The Eradicator in the same situation as other superstars who fought title matches against Morgan. Following SummerSlam, Dom sent a message to the Women’s Champion while seemingly mocking Mami.

“She gets me… Thank you @YaOnlyLivvOnce 😛🖤,” wrote Dom.

Mysterio could be seen sticking his tongue out just the way Ripley does while looking into the camera. He could also be seen feasting on chicken nuggets sent to him by Liv Morgan. Notably, the Women’s Champ also responded to Dom’s message and thanked her “Daddy Dom.” It would be interesting to see the aftermath of this betrayal on the next episode of RAW.
