Next week at Roadblock: End of the Line, challenger and current United States Champion Roman Reigns is set to face the Universal Champion, Kevin Owens. It is being rumoured that plans are set in place for both men’s futures with their respective titles, so it’s looking unlikely that the Big Dog will win the top prize from the Prize Fighter.
The initial assumption was that WWE wanted to make Roman Reigns a double Champion going into WrestleMania season.
However, reports suggest the plans in place for both Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens are different. As reported by The Wrestling Observer, Roman Reigns will take on Braun Strowman, most likely for the United States Championship, at WrestleMania 33.
According to recent reports, many were under the assumption that WWE wanted to make Roman Reigns a dual champion heading into WrestleMania 33.
However, plans for both Kevin Owens and Roman Reigns go completely against that. The Wrestling Observer reports that Roman Reigns will take on Braun Strowman, with the WWE United States Title most likely on the line, at WrestleMania.
Right now, Braun Strowman isn’t tied down to any long-term rivalry but is said to be entering a short term one with the recently returning Big Show. He will, in the upcoming months, enter into his program with Roman Reigns.
As for Kevin Owens, rumours of Finn Balor returning at the Royal Rumble and winning the Rumble match are still going strong. This will lock them in a Universal Championship feud, leading into WrestleMania 33.

The Balor/Owens feud has been apparent since Kevin first won the Championship in the Fatal Four Way with Big Cass, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. The initial plans for Finn were that he wasn’t going to drop the Championship for a long period of time. That was something that couldn’t happen because of his injury.
Thus, the logical thing would be to keep the Championship on Owens through the entire ‘Mania season. It would also be logical for WWE not to crown him with a second Championship, as they still want us, the fans, to be on his side.
A dual title reign wouldn’t be the right booking as it would dial him down from his heat with the majority of WWE fans.
Also, nothing has been said on if Roman will drop the title to Braun, yet, as the plans have been made but are yet to approved and set in motion. Guess we’ll have to wait and watch!
