The rivalry between Seth Rollins and CM Punk started several years ago. As a matter of fact, it began when The Best in the World left WWE in January 2014 and started taking shots at his then-former workplace.
The Visionary didn't like that and often called out CM Punk either on live TV or through his social media accounts. Five years after his departure, Punk returned to the company and joined WWE Backstage.
Rollins took to his account on X/Twitter and challenged Punk to a match, but the Best in the World had no intention of coming back to the ring and instead urged The Visionary to 'stop tweeting.'

"This isn't the show where you come on and shoot your little angles. Seth needs to stop tweeting and realize that some times it is better to be viewed at as the fool when you shut your mouth, or you open your mouth and remove all doubt...Just stop tweeting," CM Punk said.

Their feud didn't stop there, as the two continued to take shots at each other for the next four years when the Best in the World made his WWE return at Survivor Series in November 2023.
Fast forward to today, there is speculation that WWE will schedule a CM Punk vs Seth Rollins match for the RAW premiere on Netflix on Monday, January 6th, while the plan is for their feud to be extended through WrestleMania 41.
Will the World Heavyweight Championship be on the line in the CM Punk vs Seth Rollins rivalry?
It appears that WWE creative is still working on how to structure the CM Punk vs Seth Rollins rivalry and when the two megastars will face each other. Starting from part one on the RAW premiere on Netflix, the feud could end at WrestleMania 41.
The question is whether the World Heavyweight Championship will be on the line. For this to happen, Gunther will have to lose to either Punk or Rollins, so a new champion is crowned. With Punk vs Rollins seemingly set in early January, one of the two could go on and defeat The Ring General at the Royal Rumble Premium Live Event on February 1.
That way, WWE could raise the stakes and have the world title on the line in their mega feud.
