Seth Rollins might play the role of a special guest referee at SummerSlam 2024 if CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre is confirmed. So far, Adam Pearce has refused to make the match official owing to The Scottish Warrior's eccentric behavior, but he might have a change of heart ahead of The Biggest Party of The Summer.
If The Visionary becomes the special guest referee at the premium live event, McIntyre will have an advantage since Seth Rollins holds a significant amount of bitterness toward Punk. Rollins had previously expressed his dislike for the former AEW star even before his return at Survivor Series 2023, and it looks like it has now become more intense after Money in the Bank 2024 where the Chicago native cost Seth the World Heavyweight Championship.
At SummerSlam, Seth Rollins can turn heel and help Drew McIntyre defeat CM Punk. The loss will be a huge blow to Punk considering he's been running his mouth about destroying McIntyre in their first match. Following that, The Visionary and The Scottish Warrior can form a temporary alliance where they make the former AEW World Champion eat his words about never letting the Scotsman win a title match. Both stars could aim to destroy any chances Punk gets following The Biggest Party of The Summer.
Corey Graves deleted his Tweet! More details HERE.
However, Rollins and McIntyre's union will not last long since both of them are after the World Heavyweight Championship. Eventually, one of them will turn on the other, leading to another match between them.
The perfect stage for Seth Rollins vs. Drew McIntyre will be WrestleMania 41 since McIntyre defeated Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship at this year's Show of Shows.
Seth Rollins saved Adam Pearce from Drew McIntyre ahead of SummerSlam
On last week's episode of WWE RAW, Adam Pearce was ready to make CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre official for SummerSlam. The General Manager's only condition was that The Scottish Warrior apologize to the referees who were hurt during McIntyre's Money in the Bank post-show chaos.
However, he refused to apologize, and instead pushed the referee on the ring floor and snapped at Adam Pearce. Even though Pearce didn't back down, he possibly wouldn't have been able to take on a frustrated McIntyre.
Seth Rollins ran out to the ring to save Adam Pearce. His ambush forced McIntyre to retreat up the arena ramp. The situation may be addressed on tonight's Monday Night RAW.
