WWE CEO Vince McMahon will be in attendance at pay per view event WWE Payback in Chicago this Sunday and will be announcing which of the three candidates - in the form of Shane McMahon, Stephanie McMahon and Triple H, will be handed the reigns of RAW – reports dailywrestlingnews.com.
An insider with knowledge of the angle stated that prior to WrestleMania 32 it was decided that each of the trio would be the leader of their own show. However, a lot of water has passed under the bridge since then and it’s unknown whether the original plan would still be used. SmackDown is still very much up for grabs, but the brands will most likely be split in order to divide them fairly.
Shane sees his future with WWE and company officials are only too happy to oblige him.
The younger McMahon made a surprise return to the company after a gap of over five years, and interrupted his father while he was handing the Vincent J McMahon Legacy of Excellence Award to his sister Stephanie.
Shane announced his intentions to take over WWE, with prepared to oblige him if he defeated Undertaker in a Hell In a Cell match at WrestleMania. Despite losing the match, Shane is still heavily involved with WWE and may have a long term role in the future.
