Shawn Michaels had to deal with a controversial finish to the NXT Championship Match between reigning champion Trick Williams and Eddy Thorpe. NXT General Manager Ava came to the ring and declared Trick as the winner, as the match ended in no contest, causing Thorpe's reaction.
The 34-year-old superstar was furious with Ava's decision and confronted her, forcing Shawn Michaels to come to her aid. However, Thorpe didn't hold back and shoved the WWE legend, almost wreaking havoc.
This is not the first time that Michaels and Thorpe come face-to-face, as the WWE legend confronted and shoved the NXT star a few weeks ago after the latter accidentally got involved in a backstage segment where GM Ava was assaulted.

Fast forward to today, the NXT boss could continue his feud with Eddy Thorpe by suspending him for confronting him after the title match. Such punishment would help add a new angle to the storyline and create more hype.

The other scenario is for Michaels to confront Eddy Thorpe on NXT next week, and put him in a match where if he loses he will leave the brand.
Shawn Michaels gets high praise from NXT star
Shawn Michaels has done a great job as the NXT boss and has helped the brand evolve rapidly over the past couple of years.
Recently, he got high praise from NXT star Tony D'Angelo for the work he has done, during an appearance on The Ringer Wrestling Show.
"Shawn is all for the business, so if you show that you're willing to work hard and willing to do what's best for everything, he will help you...We'll do film and whatnot, and he just has ideas and sees things that three-and-a-half years in the business I wouldn't see, but his mind for the business is insane. With NXT becoming a top brand in WWE, the question now is how Shawn Michaels will handle the feud with Eddy Thorpe and whether we will see the WWE legend return to the ring to face the 34-year-old superstar.
