We are all set for the upcoming WWE Clash at the Castle, Scotland, with an action-packed match card booked for the premium live event. The show will feature several highly anticipated contests for the biggest championships on RAW and SmackDown.
Although the PLE matchcard looks stacked, there is still room for surprises. These could include Triple H changing a few things at the last minute that may see another title match added to the show. Or a new twist in the ones that have already been announced.
Here, we look at three last-minute changes Triple H could make to Clash at the Castle. So, without further ado, let's begin.
A female WWE star said her life is in danger. Details HERE
#1 Drew McIntyre challenges Damian Priest inside a steel cage
Drew McIntyre is set to challenge Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship at Clash at the Castle. The Scottish Warrior defeated Finn Balor on WWE RAW earlier this week to get The Judgment Day barred from ringside. However, the heel faction could still appear toward the match's end.
Even in their absence, there is the continued threat of CM Punk potentially returning to cost McIntyre his title shot once again. Considering how close McIntyre is to picking up a fairytale victory, the creative team could add more to the match by having him challenge Priest for the World Championship inside a steel cage. It would allow both superstars to unleash hell upon each other and add to the controversy surrounding any interference if it happens.
#2 Tag team championship match announced on WWE SmackDown
WWE has announced five matches for Clash at the Castle, all of which will see top champions put their titles on the line. The final episode of RAW before the upcoming PLE saw The Awesome Truth defend their World Tag Team Championship against The Final Testaments' Authors of Pain.
The final edition of SmackDown could see a massive tag team title match added to Clash at the Castle. Tommaso Ciampa recently defeated one-half of the reigning WWE Tag Team Champions when he faced Austin Theory. Johnny Gargano couldn't do the same against Grayson Waller, but only because Theory took the blow in the match's final moments.
DIY still has a legitimate claim at a title shot against A-Town Down Under, and the two could cross paths on SmackDown tonight. The blue brand will witness The Grayson Waller Effect this week, featuring Ciampa and Gargano as the special guests. DIY could brawl with the tag team champions, setting up a title match at Clash at the Castle as a last-minute addition.
#3 No disqualification stipulation in the huge title match at Clash at the Castle
One of the title matches scheduled for this weekend's PLE will see Sami Zayn put his Intercontinental Championship on the line against Chad Gable. The latter has become a menacing leader for The Alpha Academy since turning heel, criticizing the members of his faction at every possible opportunity.
The WWE Universe is rallying behind Otis, who seems to be getting uncomfortable with Gable's change in behavior. Otis has reluctantly supported Gable to protect Maxxine Dupri and Akira Tozawa. But enough might be enough for the former Money in the Bank winner, especially if Gable slaps Otis when the latter doesn't help him pin Zayn.
This could lead to Otis ultimately standing up to Chad Gable, potentially costing him the title match. However, that would only be possible inside the ring if the Intercontinental Championship match were to be governed by no disqualification laws, allowing room for massive interference. Thus, Triple H may sanction an added stipulation to Sami Zayn vs. Chad Gable to create a jaw-dropping moment at Clash at the Castle.
