There are two reasons for this match to be the main event of WrestleMania. The first reason is more of a bookish one. The winner of the Royal Rumble should challenge the champion of his choice in the main event of WrestleMania. Since Shinsuke Nakamura won the 2018 Royal Rumble match and chose WWE Champion AJ Styles as his opponent for WrestleMania, this match should be the main event.

The second reason is more of a fan in me wanting it. Ask any WWE fan about the most exciting match of this year's Mania, and the majority of them will say AJ Styles vs Shinsuke Nakamura.

If you have no idea what I am talking about, just watch their match at New Japan's Wrestle Kingdom 10 and imagine how epic it would be to put on that kind of a showcase at WrestleMania.
Just the thought of 75 thousand or more people singing Nakamura's theme song inside the Mercedes-Benz Superdome could be enough to close the WrestleMania.
