We start off WWE‘s sometimes awesome show with a backstage segment with Rhodes, Sheamus, and Kaitlyn. I missed the first minute or so of it, but I can tell you that we are seeing Sheamus vs. Rhodes (again) and that it looks like a Rhodes/Kaitlyn romance angle is happening. Remember when everybody expected Cody Rhodes to win the World Heavyweight Championship in 2012? Well, I can easily say that 2013 won’t be his year either. Soon, Cody, soon. Sheamus and Cody Rhodes come out for their match, and the build-up to the predictable Sheamus win begins. I know that not every match can be unpredictable, but it seems like almost every TV match from the past year has had an extremely obvious winner. It would be nice if we didn’t know who was going to win. Like when Orton faced Henry a few weeks back. After a pretty good match, which included one of Cody’s beautiful moonsaults, Sheamus gets the predictable win after hitting a Brogue Kick.
I don’t think Cody’s moustache revitalized his career liked he hoped it would. |
We come back from the break to see Mark Henry come out for what I think is a match. I’m quite curious to see what Henry will be doing at ‘Mania, since all of the most logical opponents for him will likely be doing something else. Hopefully, he doesn’t get stuck in the multi-man like he usually does every year. Anyway, his opponent Justin Gabriel makes his way to the ring to totally destroy Mark Henry. After a botch from Gabriel, where he fails to move out of the way of a second rope splash, Henry picks him up and lands the World’s Strongest Slam for the win. Decent match. It was pretty back and forth by squash match standards.
Yep. Henry’s back. |
We go backstage to see Cody Rhodes having a fit. Kaitlyn comes up to him, says something, and quickly walks away. Well, at least Cody isn’t doing nothing. Well, it looks like they only had half and hour of content planned for tonight, because the rest of the show is just re-caps. Wonderful.
