5 WWE Superstars Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar defeated whilst Universal Champion

#3. Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns defeated Finn Balor to retain the WWE Universal Championship

Finn Balor is another top WWE Superstar who has challenged Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship. However, the inaugural Universal Champion has failed to defeat both men.

At SummerSlam 2018, Reigns won the Universal Championship for the first time. The very next night, he offered Balor a shot at the title on RAW. The Prince gave his best during the contest, but could not defeat Reigns to win the title.

On the September 3, 2021 episode of SmackDown, Finn Balor challenged Roman for the title once again. Reigns choked out The Prince to end the match and retain the championship.

Balor got another shot at The Tribal Chief and his title at the 2021 Extreme Rules Premium Live Event. Balor brought The Demon to the match for maximum impact. But the ring turnbuckle snapped in the final moments of the contest and Reigns took advantage to pick up the victory.

Meanwhile, Brock Lesnar has only faced Balor once to defend the title. Balor put up a great fight against Lesnar at Royal Rumble 2019 but was forced to tap out by The Beast Incarnate.

Both champions have managed to overcome the inaugural Universal Champion during their title defense.
