This week, ‘The icon’ Sting was the guest on Ric Flair’s “Whoo! Nation” podcast, and among the many topics the old rivals talked about was Sting’s health following his match against Seth Rollins at the Night of Champions PPV a couple of months ago.
As was reported, Sting suffered serious injuries to his spine during the match, after taking a couple of bucklebombs from Rollins. When Ric asked him on his condition, Sting candidly responded saying that it was totally his fault that he got hurt in the match and that his neck whiplashed a couple of times. “On the second one, I’m having a casual conversation in my own mind thinking: ‘Okay Steve tuck your chin. Do what you know how to do.”
Sting admits to not being able to even walk following the second bump, but realising the stakes of being in the main-event of a WWE PPV, he somehow mustered enough to wrestle for another 2 minutes, before he called for the finish.
Sting, real name Steve Borden, also confirmed being set for surgery at the hands of Dr. Joseph C. Maroon, and is hopeful that he won’t have to have anything fused. He expressed hope for 'one more match' as he is set to undergo the same procedure that John Cena did a few years ago.
