#2 Samoa Joe gets back in the ring at SummerSlam 2020
One Superstar who isn't booked to wrestle at SummerSlam 2020, but will be at the show is Samoa Joe. Joe hasn't wrestled in WWE since February, with his last match coming on February 10th in an 8-person tag team match on RAW. The Samoan Submission Machine was suspended for violating WWE's Wellness Policy, and upon his return, he joined the RAW commentary desk.
The former NXT and United States Champion has done a great job behind the mic, but he still has a lot to offer in the ring.
Current RAW Superstar MVP recently let it slip that Samoa Joe will be returning soon to WWE, in an interview with Newsweek:
"What I understand, ol' Samoa Joe is gonna be back in action and over the years Samoa Joe and I have been great friends, but we've never ever faced each other. At this stage of my career, I think I feel a lot more confident facing him, knowing that I got Bobby and Shelton backing me up—but I also know that wouldn't phase Joe in the least."
Joe teased a return to in-ring action when he recently confronted Seth Rollins, who was picking on Joe's commentary partner, Tom Phillips.
With Seth Rollins set to take on Dominik Mysterio at SummerSlam 2020, the show could be a great way for Joe to get back to his natural environment - the ring. SummerSlam 2020 will see the debut of Dominik, which will create waves, while the return of Samoa Joe could give Rollins a new opponent.
