The biggest winners and losers of last night's Raw (January 7)

It's finally happening.
It's finally happening.

Winner: Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins earned his rematch against Dean Ambrose and thankfully, it was much better than their encounter at TLC. Dean Ambrose defeated Seth Rollins to retain his title, which means that the 'Architect' is free of this underwhelming feud and can fully focus on the Royal Rumble that he's the odds on favourite to win.

In other words, this loss means that Seth Rollins should be about to heat up, and he can thankfully put the failed Shield reunion that cooled him off in the second half of 2018 fully behind him.

Rematch this may have been, but thankfully, it isn't going to be taking place on a pay per view, so the feud wasn't dragged out. Abolishing the automatic rematch clause has unfortunately led to a whole lot of rematches, but at least there's some attempt to make them timely and give them higher stakes.

One step forward, one step back, I suppose.
