Winner: Samoa Joe
Samoa Joe is United States Championship once again and so things have been made right again. He never should have lost it, to begin with. Rey Mysterio mentioned that he's training his son, Dominic, to be a wrestler, and perhaps he's leaving it to his son to avenge his father. Though an interesting prospect, one wonders whether such a green talent would be ready for that kind of angle.
Either way, the United States Championship is back with its proper holder. Now let's see if any kind of rivalry can develop for it in the midst of "wild card" chaos.
Loser: Braun Strowman
Two years ago, Braun Strowman was the hottest thing going, having a highly-praised feud with Roman Reigns and then coming across as a can't miss attraction in the main event at SummerSlam. Even last year, he was the Money in the Bank contract holder and we all thought at the time that big things might be coming for him.
In 2019, he's having arm wrestling contests with Bobby Lashley ahead of a match in Saudi Arabia nobody has much interest in.
It's a perfect example of how WWE squanders popular talent.
