Winner: Humberto Carrillo
Humberto Carrillo is rumored to be in line for a push in yet another attempt by WWE to saturate the Latin American market. Bouncing off his strong showing with Seth Rollins, he took on the United States Champion, AJ Styles.
Once again, Humberto Carillo fell short, but he put on a good showing against the man who reigned as WWE Champion for 371 days. As far as career trajectories go, he went from being essentially an extra on 205 Live to facing Seth Rollins and AJ Styles on the flagship show of the company. It doesn't get much better than that.
The danger, of course, is that he'll become the next Andrade - stuck in the role of making the top stars look really good but never being able to bust through that glass ceiling. We'll see if that happens, but either way, even that role is leagues better than what he was doing before, so it's all a big win for him for now.
