The New Day to break up on WWE RAW tonight? Analyzing what can lead to it

The New Day hasn't been the most well-oiled machine on WWE RAW lately after finishing their feud with The Final Testament. After weeks of tension, the long-time group could meet the end of their partnership on tonight's episode.

The New Day's dynamic has shifted dramatically since they feuded with The Final Testament on WWE RAW. Xavier Woods has become more aggressive and irritable, while Kofi Kingston tries to maintain peace by talking things through. Despite the tension, the duo will be tested again as they face Authors of Pain in the Number One Contender's Tournament for the World Tag Team Championship. However, instead of beating Akam and Rezar, the former Tag Team Champions might be the ones at odds tonight.

Towards the end of the match, Kofi and Xavier may have the upper hand and could be close to winning but some mishap could lead to Kingston getting pinned while Woods is too late to make the save. Woods could then express his frustration and eventually release his pent-up anger and attack Kingston.

Losing the tournament might be the last straw for Xavier after the duo failed to capture the World Tag Team Championship against The Judgment Day. Additionally, Woods failed to defeat Jey Uso for the Intercontinental Championship a couple of weeks ago, and he refused to shake the champion's hand and got mad at his partner for shaking Jey's hand.

Does Big E prefer The New Day to stay together or break up on WWE RAW?

Although Xavier and Kofi are the only New Day members shown on WWE RAW lately, Big E remains updated with what's happening despite his absence due to a neck injury. He supports his members in their every move, even those involving breaking up.

While on Sports Talk Philly last month, Big E acknowledged that there is tension on WWE RAW with The New Day but believes they still know what they're doing. He added that he is okay with the group breaking up or staying together, stating that Xavier and Kofi can achieve a lot as singles stars or being a tag team due to their talents.

"Sometimes, you just need to be reminded of what you know, and look, Kofi has accomplished incredible things in a singles capacity, and so has Woods. I think there is a route for those guys to amicably go their own way and do singles stuff. I think there is also a route for them to be together as a tag team. There are a lot of options for two incredibly talented guys."

It remains to be seen what is next for The New Day on WWE RAW.
